Snow Cream

Not much tastes better on a snowy winter day than some snow cream. So, since we were snowed out of school yesterday, Doll and I had to make some snow cream. Here are some pictures from the process...

Step 1: Collect snow

Step 2: Stir in sugar, vanilla, and milk

Step 3: Serve

Step 4: Taste

Step 5: Grin all over yourself 'cause it just tastes sooo good!

Back to the corner...

I haven't used this blog in ages, but think I'll get back to it. The Somethin' Sassy blog that I have used most recently is geared more towards crafty things and I find myself just wanting to ramble about the everyday! Looking back, I haven't even used this blog since my little Doll came into the world! Wow - isn't it amazing how much and how quickly life changes?

Anyway, I would like to try to keep this blog a little more up-to-date than in the past! I am so horrible about keeping a journal but would love to someday be able to read back over memories made. I'm not sure how I feel about the permanance of Blogger - what do you think? Will it be around in 50 years? Who knows...

The biggest drama in my life right now is the fact that Kitty Brown will be making a trip to the hospital. In case you don't know, Kitty Brown is my Doll's baby doll. (does that sound confusing?...) Anyway, Doll received Kitty Brown this Christmas and quickly became very attached to her. Kitty Brown has these fabulous pig tails that are just the ticket to comfort Doll in any situation! But, poor little Kitty Brown has developed, as my husband, Papa Bear, deamed it, a "lazy eye". One of her open/shut eyes has broken and now just hangs limply in her eye socket. Looks pretty pitiful and just a tad bit scary... So, Kitty Brown will be journeying to the Madame Alexander doll hospital for a little cosmetic attention. Or at least that's my plan. Now let's see how long it takes me to get her in the mail. But the main concern is this: How will Doll cope without her precious Kitty Brown?? My main concern is at bedtime. You see, before Kitty Brown came along, it was MY hair that Doll had to have a handfull of before she could fall asleep. Which left me with my head leaned over the crib/bed for anywhere from 30-45-60 minutes each night... I know, I know - most people would call it ridiculous to stay by her side until she falls asleep but it's just "how we roll". So, I'm wondering if I need to purchase a "filler" baby doll to take Kitty Brown's place while she's on vacation. Of course Doll has other babies, but Kitty Brown is the only one with HAIR!!!
